Kicking off the Evanston Made 2022 exhibit series, is the BIPOC Members Group Show at Evanston Art Center, featuring contemporary art works created by Evanston Made’s BIPOC Members. BIPOC members of Evanston Made identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color. 

Curated by Artist and Community Activist Fran Joy with Advisory Council members Indira Johnson, Laurice Bell, Anne Wolff and Lisa Degliantoni, the group show will be on exhibit June 1- 30, and will host public programming throughout the month.

Evanston Made and Evanston Art Center will donate their portion of sales proceeds, paying artists 100% of art sales. 

The exhibit’s theme is “Community,” so much is in balance as we enter 2022 and we need to move forward together. Work can address the following questions/issues;

  • How do we connect with one another to move forward? 
  • How do we care about our neighbors?
  • How can we better relate to disparate groups?
  • How can we overcome the work of those wanting to divide us?

Guidelines for submission:

  • Submit 3 pieces of art created in 2020-2022 for consideration.
  • Dimensions must not exceed 48″H x 48″W for 2D art – FRAMED.
  • 3D art submissions will be reviewed before accepting.
  • JPG should be at least 1500px on one side and no more than 5mb
  • Image should show only your art. Solid color background. As little glare or light as possible.
  • Deadline for submissions is May 10, 2022
  • Submissions accepted for the exhibit to be announced May 15, 2022
  • Art must be delivered to Evanston Art Center by May 25, 2022
  • All must be for sale
  • 100% of the sales price of all artwork sold during this exhibit go to the artist, EAC and Evanston Made receive no sales commission.

Please fill out the submission form with three options to exhibit, 2D, 3D and multimedia work is accepted. Artists will be notified which piece will be on exhibit by May 15.
