Denise Grossman

I am currently, semi- retired from careers as a licensed Occupational Therapist, Ordained Minister with the United Church of Christ and yoga instructor/therapist. During my call to Ministry, I also, felt called to pursue a life-long interest of mine, which is art. With that said, now that I am retired, my calling as an artist is primary and is of the utmost importance to me. Moreover, I view my art as a “Spiritual” calling, one that profoundly impacts my work.

I am primarily a self-taught artist. However, for the past four years I have informally studied with a number of established professional fine artist online and in formal workshop settings. My primary goal is to continue to intuitively expand my visual art endeavors in the field of art while teaching art to individuals with mental health challenges and substance use disorders in ways that nurture the human spirit and brings insight and comfort to one’s heart and soul.

My medium is pastel and that I am a member of the Chicago Pastel Painters and the Pastel Society of America. I was one of the featured artists Red Rock Pastel Society of Nevada’s virtual pastel competition /and exhibition in May/2022.
