Mary K. Seyfarth
Mary K. Seyfarth started working in ceramics in 1978 and the vessel has been her expression for the last 40 years. I love the “fire arts” as I have worked in foundries making sculpture cast in bronze, iron and aluminum.
Recently, however, seeking a more direct process to create, I have been working with ephemeral materials. In the last 4-5 years I created a series of birds/owls. The birds are made from available materials: cardboard, paper, nails, wood, and lots of glue.
I have also added to my 25 year long series of FEET. All FEET are ceramic, made from a mold of my feet.
