Evanston Made is Popping Up
In Retail Space in Main-Dempster Mile
Evanston, IL — Evanston Made is hosting “Shop Evanston Made,” a six-month pop up market at the former Lapin Computers location at 832 Dempster Street in Evanston’s Main-Dempster Mile. Evanston Made plans to create a vibrant, art-filled experience for arts enthusiasts and patrons this September through March 2023.
This space is on a busy corner (Dempster and Elmwood) and will join Evanston Made partners like SPACE900, Perspective Gallery and POUR, to bring energy and excitement for the arts to the neighborhood.
“We are always looking for creative uses of vacant spaces that bring art to the community! Evanston Made supports hundreds of creative entrepreneurs in Evanston, and we are thrilled to be able to take them to market,” says Lisa Degliantoni, Executive Director of Evanston Made.
The pop up market will feature art exhibits and pop up sales of handmade goods by Evanston Made members in addition to “Meet the Makers” nights, mixers, art demos and more. The programming calendar will be available at evanstonmade.org.
Katherine Gotsick, Executive Director of Main-Dempster Mile: “This is a fantastic activation of a vacant space, and we’re eager to host Evanston Made, its events and artists! We can’t wait to see what they have on their calendar, and to have them participate in our events too. We’re sure they will attract lots of new people to the neighborhood, and the surrounding businesses are thrilled to have them as neighbors.”
“Evanston Made can utilize any space to create opportunities for artists and creative entrepreneurs to connect with new audiences. We are grateful to Main Dempster Mile for the support and enthusiasm” says Liz Cramer, Co-Director of Evanston Made.
Evanston Made will announce further details about the pop up market and special events at evanstonmade.org and on Facebook and Instagram.
