Peer Services
Founded in 1975, PEER Services is a leading nonprofit provider of substance use prevention and outpatient treatment services to youth and adults, ages 12-90+, in Northern Cook County. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable treatment to all in need. We don’t turn anyone away due to an inability to pay!
Our Expressive Therapy Program helps teens and adults struggling with substance use find their voice through the creative arts. Art can be a helpful tool in expressing feelings, visualizing change, and fostering connection with self and others. PEER offers both individual and group art therapy sessions, as well as art exhibitions and workshops to de-stigmatize substance use in the community. Our Expressive Therapy program is generously supported through grants from the DMRT Foundation, Women for Evanston Youth, and the Evanston Arts Council Cultural Fund, in partnership with the Illinois Arts Council Agency and the National Endowment through the Arts.
