Maggie Drouillard
Working with clay allows me to give myself grace. This is a mistake making space. I love how I am forced to adapt to its whims, allow things to escape my control, and embrace spontaneity. I enjoy hand-building with stoneware and porcelain, exploring organic shapes and movement. I can’t wait to see what I make next.
Born in Hong Kong, grew up in Canada, started adulthood in Southern US, and now home in Evanston. Trained as a hospital pharmacist, mother of two, environmentalist, feminist, vegetarian, woodworker, and now ceramicist. For years, I have struggled with my sense of identity and belonging. I remain on that journey, which is now a path of discovery.
