Luke Nowak

I am a self taught woodworker who enjoys using the natural beauty of wood grain to create functional art. All of my works are handmade in my Evanston workshop using a variety of woods including butternut, cherry, maple, and walnut. I find it gratifying to work with customers to create unique and functional items to suit their needs. My focus is on kitchen utensils such as spoons, spatulas, and cutting boards.

I was born and raised in Chicago to an artist and architect so creating has always been in my blood. I have played guitar since I was ten and enjoy playing all types of music. Being a guitarist, I was nervous at first about woodworking as I need all my digits, but soon fell in love with creating items with wood. My company, Brompton Woods, has been around for over seven years and also includes vintage resale.

I live and work in Evanston with my wife and two young kids.
