Jan Stein

I am interested in exploring the beauty of nature and how mankind does or does not fit in. Sometimes, the interaction depicted is where humans have harmed nature (as in my Glacier National Park photo in which the glaciers are almost non-existent). Other times, the exploration is through a scene in which the reference to nature is minimal (as in my Paris Cafe painting). The exploration could even be through a scene where nature is more prominent (as in my Northerly Island, Okeefenokee Swamp, and Burnham Park paintings.) Or, on the other end, it could simply be an exploration of humans to better understand the human condition.
