David D’Arcy

My paintings and drawings are motivated by my experiences in nature. The images come from my walks in the woods and travels I have taken and begin with quick studies or photos. My work immerses the viewer in nature, often focusing on the quiet or solitude of a certain place. I am particularly drawn to the subtle interplay of light and color unique to that place. The rhythms of shapes help me determine a way through the space in the works, much as I experience on my walks.
