Perspective Gallery: Jed Fielding Photo Talk & Book Signing Oct. 20th

This Sunday, October 20th at 4 p.m., renowned photographer Jed Fielding will be at Perspective Gallery for a talk and book signing. Fielding’s photographic explorations have taken him to Peru, Greece, Egypt, Spain, France, Mexico, Portugal, and throughout the United States. And, he’s been photographing in Italy for more than 45 years. Chicago-based Fielding studied with Aaron Siskind and Harry Callahan at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he received his BFA, continuing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for his MFA in 1980.
Fielding’s photographs have been widely collected and exhibited, and are represented in private and public collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; the Art Institute of Chicago; Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego; International Center of Photography, New York and more. Included among his many published monographs are: “City of Secrets: Photographs of Naples,” “Photographs from Mexico City,” and “Encounters,” which Fielding will be signing after his presentation. About Perspective Gallery: Perspective Fine Art Photography is a not-for-profit, community-oriented cooperative whose purpose is to promote fine art photography through monthly group and featured artists exhibitions, artist talks and its “Perspectives on Photography” lecture series. In addition, Perspective hosts three annual juried exhibitions (one international, one for Chicago-area photographers, and one for area high-school students) and an invitational show. The mission of Perspective Group and Photography Gallery Limited, a 501(c)(3) organization, is to promote the art of photography to the public by way of exhibitions, lectures and outreach while fostering a dynamic and diverse community of photographers who share ideas, inspiration and knowledge of photography.
