CITY + LAKE: Built Space / Inland Ocean

Sarita Kamat of Evanston’s Artem Gallery and NEO member Jeff Garrett are taking over the exhibit space of Evanston Public Library between October 4 and November 30 for an exhibit of Jeff’s photography and Sarita’s paintings entitled “City & Lake: Built Space / Inland Ocean. The exhibit will feature about 20 photos each of Chicago/Evanston and Lake Michigan which Jeff has created and framed, along with a separate and novel collaboration involving 17 images each: one set of Jeff’s lake photos (8″x8″) and another set by Sarita Kamat responding to the same scenes in the form of miniature paintings (4″x4”). This collaboration explores the two different aesthetic languages of photography and painting. The exhibit within the exhibit is called “When the Lens Meets the Brush”.
