THE EVANSTON ART CENTER (EAC) ANNOUNCES “2025 SUMMER ART CAMP ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN!”

The Evanston Art Center (EAC) is excited to announce that our 2025 Summer Art Camp enrollment is now open. The EAC offers thematic and studio art camps for ages 4-18 from June 9 – August 15, 2025.

The Evanston Art Center values creative exploration and cultivation because there is no wrong way to create art. Through different pedagogical approaches, the EAC embraces critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and experimentation. Whether you’re just starting or expanding your skills, we focus on sharing new techniques to inspire beginners and deepen existing interests. The EAC is an inclusive space that values diverse perspectives and interpretations, both in the classroom and in galleries. Join us this summer to explore, experiment, and create at the Evanston Art Center!

For campers ages 4-5 and 6-8, each week features fun, colorful art projects based on themes like Under the Sea, Mythical Creations, and Eco Art Studio. Projects are tailored to each age group, with full-day campers enjoying additional afternoon activities.

For campers ages 9-11 and 12-14, we offer a variety of studio art camps including Ceramic Handbuilding, Beginning Drawing, Intro to Digital Photography, and more. High school students can dive into weekly intensives like Figure & Anatomy Drawing, Painting, Filmmaking, and more.

Full-day campers should bring a nut-free lunch and will join our ‘Lunch Bunch’ during a 30-minute supervised lunch period. Please ensure your child’s lunch and snacks for the day are clearly labeled with their name. If your camper has any allergies or special dietary information, please let us know via the Emergency Contact Form or contact our Director of Education with additional information.

CAMP CURRICULUM AGES 4-5

Each camp nurtures the exploration of materials, promotes visual literacy, and supports the development of behavioral and emotional skills. Our camps prioritize skill development by teaching students to recognize and explore creating with various colors, forms, lines, and textures. Thematic camps offer young campers the opportunity to enhance their visual literacy by experimenting with various art forms, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and more.

CAMP CURRICULUM AGES 6-8

These camps focus on enhancing visual literacy, promoting artistic expression, and fostering behavioral and emotional growth with various art projects. Guided by weekly themes, students will have the opportunity to explore diverse artistic mediums and subjects including, landscapes, portraits, observational art, printmaking, color blending, and more.

CAMP CURRICULUM 9-14

Visual art camps focus on fostering exploration and building skills. Students will learn techniques including proportion, composition, elements of art, design principles, and color theory through engaging projects. Students are encouraged to engage in critical thinking, experimentation, and problem-solving as they explore various artistic mediums.

HIGH SCHOOL ART INTENSIVE CURRICULUM

Intensive visual arts programs are designed to provide students with an immersive and challenging artistic experience. The curriculum aims to foster advanced skill development, critical thinking, and creative exploration. With a combination of hands-on projects, theoretical discussions, and exposure to diverse art forms, students will deepen their understanding of visual arts.

STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES ARE WELCOME!

The EAC welcomes students with disabilities to join our classes and camps. Our facility is wheelchair-accessible, with power-assist doors, an accessible restroom, and an elevator.
