Interconnected: Birds and Wildflowers of Illinois, Paintings by Molly Cranch

Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Chicago Illinois

January 18 – May 4, 2025

Molly Cranch’s paintings are an exploration of the biodiversity surrounding  us. Working with a soft color palette and layered mark making, Cranch seeks to capture fleeting moments in nature. Pairing gestural renderings of local birds with abstracted wildflower forms, this exhibition finds connections in the delicate balance of our local ecosystem. An invitation to pause, these paintings remind us to observe, to reflect upon, and to care for nature.

Molly Cranch is an artist, a children’s book author-illustrator and an educator based in Chicago, Illinois.
