Scott Garfinkel

“Stumbling into photography later-in-life” is how I would best describe my journey to uncover a creative side of me that lay dormant for decades. Several years ago, I was horrified when I found old photographs (sitting loosely stored in a plastic container at the bottom of a closet) which I had taken on vacations, family gatherings, and outings with friends. My horror was that the images lacked any sense of composition or framing. From then on I vowed that I would learn how to take better pictures.

This is when some light must have switched on in my mind. In exploring my new hobby, I’ve uncovered a world of visual perspectives previously unseen by just being present and paying attention to whatever surrounding I am in. My photographic content focuses on shorelines, the sky above, natural and built environments, transportation infrastructure, animals, people and other miscellaneous subject matter.
