Robyn McMurray Hurtig

I am an abstract expressionist artist with a passion for nature, travel and all the colors and textures I come across in my daily walks and observations.

My art journey began 14 years ago when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. That diagnosis opened me up to exploring my creative side. Ever since, I’ve focused on growing, experimenting, and fine tuning my craft to express the wonders I see in the every day.

Discovering shapes and colors and intuitively including those inspirations informs my work. I primarily work with acrylic and collage, but enjoy playing with mark making through pastels, watercolors, oils and whatever the painting seems to want. I love finding joy in the process of creating a piece; not knowing where it’s going until it arrives.
