Karen Kalmek

I meditate and then sit down with my materials to channel subconscious material for my work. I collect or photograph images and incorporate them into my fabric or paper collages. I am interested in unexpected juxtaposed colors or images that create tension. I find that my visual exposure from extensive international travel also appears in my work.
