Places I’ve been – Places I’ve never been

Spanning several mediums, my work encapsulates places I’ve been, places I’ve never been, places that I long to go to.

Because I rarely paint from reference material, I often step back & wonder….”where did you come from? ”.  Working from my imagination and subconscious images both photographed & observed, these abstract bits of terra firma mysteriously spring forth.

Once begun, my paintings seem to take on a life of their own. During the journey, I sometimes have to wait for it to tell me where it wants to go.  It’s a delicate pas de deux where I simultaneously need to be in command and out of control.

Polaroid Transfers

These images culled from my travels were made on Kodak Ektachrome 35mm slide film, processed with a DayLab slide printer & Polaroid 669 film, then scanned and printed on fine art photo paper with Epson UltraChrome K3 inks.
