Janet Latshaw Simons
Later in her life Janet Latshaw Simons lost art for 10 years and feared it was gone forever. Yet after relocating to Evanston 7+ years ago she had a rebirth. In 2015, with an encompassing vengeance, she began to create digital paintings, then acrylic canvases. Her art is now her happy place and she is very grateful to be sharing her vision.
Janet’s dynamic work can be categorized as authentic representational depictions of the exquisite symmetry and balance of nature, executed with stylized realism and graphic, bold color. Her paintings are created by freehand, devoid of any projection or tracing as tools. Her work is rooted in her love of nature, originating while growing up near the Pacific ocean. Every painting Janet paints has an element that nourishes her soul.
