Gwyn Jennings
I am a maker, crafter, artist, upcycler using fabric, yarn, paint, beads, wood, ceramics, paper and found objects to create a variety of unique one-of-a-kind treasures that include boxes, toys, jewelry, hats and bags. I think all things have the potential for an alternate form. I use the creative process to transform raw material through structure, balance and shape into its new form. Yarn can become a gnome, a bear, a pig or a horse; beads become a spiral patterned rope bracelet; paint adds interest and appeal to plain surfaces. I don’t have an extensive art background and my inspiration consists of seeing something and thinking “I can make that” and then setting about figuring out how and I most often find that the materials themselves tell me what they want to become.
