Claire Tarnacki

I have been painting contemporary landscapes for ten years, working in watercolor, gouache, and acrylics/oils. My work explores a sense of place through layered color and expressive line, focusing on how a landscape feels to me. I aim to create paintings that are evocative, inviting viewers to bring their own experiences and interpretations to the work.

I hold a BFA from Miami University and began painting in earnest after retiring from a long career as an advertising art and creative director in Chicago. During that time, I have been able to join painting workshops in Europe, Mexico, and the U.S. My work has been featured in several local group and solo shows and is collected by many.
