World Premiere of Fun & Games

Dear Friends We Know and Friends We Hope to Meet, 

You are gleefully invited to the world premiere of Fun & Games. This FREE show for people of all ages takes place at the Evanston Art Center in Evanston, IL, 4pm-8:30pm on Sunday, April 27th, and is created and performed by an inventor of sound sculptures, a story teller, a cast of composers, a multidisciplinary circus artist, and musicians who sing, play flutes, saxophones, percussion, piano, and toy instruments. 

While Fun & Games comes from lead creator Carolyn O’Brien’s experience with depression, it is far from depressing. Instead, it shows the ups and downs of life while cultivating a moment of collective joy and childlike wonder to help us heal during our most difficult moments.

Fun & Games, is a theatrical, seamless experience–including music, theatre, poetry, songs of childhood games, toys, circus acts, story time, audience participation pieces with a collective scream for a much needed catharsis, and a post-show, hands-on exploration of the playground-like set. Above all, this is a continuous party. At once nostalgic and novel, this show’s blend of unusual performing forces employs a refreshing way in which the audience will experience and interact with performers and each other.
