The Wild Waning West: New Work by Katsy Johnson at Perspective Fine Art Photography Gallery

From Route 66 attractions that have lost their shine, to gold mining towns that have gone belly up, to cattle towns that have a lot fewer cowboys, Katsy Johnson’s “The Wild Waning West” gives a glimpse of the West’s faded glory at Perspective Gallery September 1 through 25^th.

Johnson’s photography for the show is reminiscent of travel postcard images from the 1920s-1950s.  “But my images are poster sized, and deliberately imperfect to match the flawed images of the past,” says Johnson. “Undersaturated via Photoshop and oversaturated with hand colored pain the images are often off kilter and over the lines.”
