Exhibit + Artist Reception on Nov 4th, 11-1PM for “Meet Me Outside, (From 6 Feet Away, Please.)” by Krissi Turpin

November 4 @ 11:00 am

You’re invited to an artist reception with refreshments on Saturday, Nov 4th, from 11-1PM.

Come see the miniature art installation, “Meet Me Outside, (From 6 Feet Away, Please.)”, a solo exhibit by mixed media artist, Krissi Turpin, featuring a thought-provoking visual commentary on the pandemic. Turpin’s work, inspired by mid-century modern design, dwells on femininity, intersectionality and parasocial relationships in American popular culture.

Currently on display 24/7 at Licky Lab & Alpaca Gallery, 1125 Dewey Ave (in front of Grandmother Park). Licky Lab & Alpaca is one of Evanston’s many free little art galleries whose mission is to spread joy with the motto “make art, take art, give art.” For more, visit https://www.instagram.com/lickylabandalpaca

This exhibit is part of the neighborhoods worldwide Terrain Biennial 2023 grass roots public art festival that brings artists and neighbors together to put public art on the front lawns (and porches, windows, and rooftops, too!) of neighborhoods across the world.

Artists and curators collaborated with hosts to produce public art installations (think sculptures, paintings, projections, flags, yarn art, you name it!) outside their homes (and other unexpected spots!).

From October 1 – November 15, the projects are on display for anyone who walks, rolls, skips or wanders by to discover! For a map, go to https://terrainexhibitions.org/tb23-map.
