Evanston Jazz Event: “Donovan’s Garage” presents the D.J.A.M. World Music Quartet

A surprise hit in Evanston last summer were the weekly jazz events held in the Alley behind jazz guitarist Donovan Mixon’s Evanston home.  The shows featured many of Chicago’s finest jazz artists and drew as many as 200 people on summer nights in the alley.  This winter the “Donovan’s Garage” shows are moving to a new home, the Second Church of Christ Scientist in northwest Evanston where the new owner of the church is making the remarkable space available for performances by Black artists.  (The Christian Science congregation continues to use the church on Sundays.)
