Evanston, Illinois – Perspective Gallery is proud to present “Magical Realism: AI Photography” an extraordinary exhibition that highlights the intersection of technology and art. Curated by William Harper, the show runs through February 23, and features the work of eight Chicago artists showing a extraordinary variety of images invoke photography in the AI assisted generation of images.
This groundbreaking exhibit invites visitors to pass through the true-story telling space created by photography into an uncanny world of impossible possibilities. The new creative openings presented by artificial intelligence challenge artists use this new tool to claim new territories of expression in their practice. Each of the eight artists in this show have found a unique voice in this adventure.
William Harper curates this show. A photographer, videographer, and composer, whose work has been exhibited internationally, Harper teaches courses in music and imaging at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Artists Talk
Perspective will host an artist’s talk via Zoom on February 13. The curator and many of the exhibiting artists will be present to answer your questions and discuss the controversies of AI in art production.

Founded in 2010, Perspective Groups and Photography Gallery is a not-for-profit, community-oriented cooperative of fine art photographers whose purpose is to prop fine art photography. In addition to monthly member artist exhibitions, the gallery produces a guest lecture series, monthly artists talks, an annual international juried exhibition, an annual invitational show, an annual juried exhibition for Chicago-area photographers, and an annual juried exhibition for Chicago-area high school students.
