Book Arts in the Park at Bunker Hill Grove #6

As part of the FPCC Connecting People to Nature Program, Hive Center for the Book Arts is pleased to partner with the Forest Preserve of Cook County to provide Book Arts in the Park at their Back to School Community Adventure Day on August 5, 2023.
From 10 am to 1 pm, participants can join Regin Igloria of North Branch Projects for Community Bookbinding, create nature-based collages with Leah Mayers, make paper by hand with Hilda Raisner, and experiment with printmaking techniques with Lisa Haskin of Haskinesque.
Pick up a free book from Young, Black & Lit for the kiddos, and check out our Free Book Exchange table, which is similar to a Little Free Library. Watch Urban Sketchers draw the scene, and take a few minutes to write your tree stories on a paper circle to add to Treewhispers project
All participants must be aware that these hands on activities are WHILE SUPPLIES LAST, as are the Book Tables.
The Back to School Community Adventure Day will also have a school supply distribution from ICNA Relief, fun with University of Illinois Extension, Bach to Rock Instrument Petting Zoo, an obstacle course, archery stations, and MORE!
