Bienen Contemporary/Early Vocal Ensemble: Evensong

The ensemble’s annual Evensong concert follows the ritual and structure of the ancient liturgy, woven together with contemporary works reflecting issues of our time. David Lang’s the national anthems (with string quartet) magnifies the hopes and fears expressed in the anthems of many nations of the world, while Herbert Howells’s “Now Abideth Faith, Hope, and Charity” contemplates how we treat each other.
