An Evening of Poetry and Community with the PEPL

In honor of National Poetry Month, come celebrate the power of words and support your local library! Enjoy an inspiring evening of poetry, featuring local talent and community voices. Whether you’re a seasoned poet or just beginning, this is your chance to share your work and connect with fellow creatives. Your participation and donations ensure the Evanston Public Library continues to provide a robust collection for all patrons! Together, we can build a community where stories, creativity, and learning thrive.

Registration suggested and walk-ins welcome!

Admission Donation:$10 or $20
(All proceeds go to the Evanston Public Library to support collections)

Highlights:

  • Open Mic Poetry Reading – share your own poems or share a poem from your favorite poet
  • Featured poet – Cydney Brown, Northwestern University undergrad student and EPL volunteer. She is the 2023 Northeast Regional Youth Poet Laureate, Emerita Philadelphia Youth Poet Laureate, and Finalist to become the National Youth Poet Laureate
  • The Mini Bar will be open during this event and will have beer, wine, cocktails, nonalcoholic beverages, and snacks available for purchase.
